Foreign Trade Policy, 2015 - 2020.

This Foreign Trade Policy, 2015 - 2020 provides a framework for increasing exports of goods and services as well as generation of employment and increasing value addition in the country. The focus of the government is to support both the manufacturing and services sectors, with a special emphasis on improving the ease of doing business.
Chapter 1 provides for the legal framework and trade facilitation. The various provisions and measures taken by the Government in the direction of trade facilitation are consolidated under this chapter. Chapter 2 provides for the general provisions regarding imports and exports. Any goods /service, the export or import of which is restricted, may be exported or imported only in accordance with an Authorisation / Permission or in accordance with the Procedures prescribed in a Notification / Public Notice issued in this regard. Chapter 3 deals with the Exports From India Schemes. The objective of schemes under this chapter is to provide rewards to exporters to offset infrastructural inefficiencies and associated costs. Chapter 4 defines the Duty Exemption /Remission Schemes Schemes under this Chapter enable duty free import of inputs for export production, including replenishment of inputs or duty remission. Chapter 5 sets up Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme in order to facilitate import of capital goods for producing quality goods and services and enhance India’s manufacturing competitiveness.
