Abstract
This Act, consisting of 113 sections divided into 13 Chapters, provides for advancing the Public Health in the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu. Chapter 2. establishes the creation, composition, duties and responsibilities of the Public Health Board for the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu. Chapter 3. specifies water supply requirements; Local authorities to provide potable water for consumption by the inhabitants of the area within its jurisdiction. It shall ensure: a) that as far as possible, the water-supply is continuous throughout the year; and b) that the water supplied is at all times wholesome and fit for human consumption; Chapter 4. Drainage; Chapter 5. Obligation of local authority to provide public sanitary conveniences; Chapter 6. Abatement of nuisances; Chapter 7. Prevention, notification and treatment of diseases; Chapter 8. Mosquito control; Chapter 9. Sanitation and buildings; Chapter 10. Fairs and festivals; Chapter 11. Powers to impose conditions in respect of certain services; Chapter 12. Rules, bye-laws, penalties, etc.; Chapter 13. Miscellaneous.
