Abstract
This Act constitutes the Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority to carry out functions including survey, analysis, regulation, control, protection, cleaning, conservation, reclamation, regeneration, restoration of pond. Further, to make environmental impact assessment of pond, prepare integrated plan for development of pond, promote community participation and to develop infrastructure for utilization of pond water. The Act requires forming a District Consultation and Monitoring Committee in every district. The Act prohibits certain activities like dumping debris and industrial waste etc. in and around ponds. The government has the power to declare area around a pond as protected area. The government may also form a Pond and Waste Water Management Committee at village level if deemed necessary.

An Act to establish an authority in the State for development, protection, rejuvenation, conservation, construction and management of pond, utilization of pond water and treatment thereof and for management and utilization of treated effluent of sewage effluent treatment plants for the purpose of irrigation, thereby reducing stress of over exploitation of ground water and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
