Abstract
This Act provides for establishment of the Himachal Pradesh State Farmer's Commission (Commission) for sustainable agricultural development in the state. Chapter I contains the short title, commencement and definitions. Chapter II constitutes the Commission and chapter III makes provisions for the governance of the Commission, including laying down its powers and functions. Chapter IV gives the government the power to make a reference to the Commission with regards to matter of policy or in respect of any act done by the Commission in contravention of the provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder. Chapter V provides for appointment of officers and employees of the Commission. Chapter VI contains provisions relating to the funds, accounts and audit of the Commission. Chapter VII requires annual report to be prepared by the Commission.
