Abstract
This Act provides for the establishment of the Kerala Fishermen’s Welfare Fund to provide for distress relief to fishermen in times of natural calamities, to give financial assistance, for payment of loans, for old age assistance, etc.
The Act sets out obligations of members of the Fund.
The Act further provides for: the establishment of the Kerala Fishermen’s Welfare Fund Board to carry out the activities financed by the Fund; internal organization of the Board; contributions to the Fund; offences and penalties; rule making powers of the Government; etc.
