Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to regulate the importation of live-stock.
The Central Government may regulate, restrict or prohibit the import into India of any livestock which may be liable to be affected by infectious or contagious diseases.
The State Government may make rules for the detention, inspection, disinfection or destruction of imported livestock, and for regulating the powers and duties of the officers whom it may appoint in this behalf.
