Abstract
These Rules are enacted in accordance with the National Food Security Act, 2013.
Every child within the age group of six to fourteen years studying in classes I to VIII who enrolls and attends the school shall be provided the nutritional meal free of charge. The meal shall be prepared in accordance with the Mid Day Meal (MOM) guidelines issued by the central government. Every school shall have the facility for cooking meal in hygienic manner. The Food and Drug Administration Department of the State may collect samples from randomly selected schools to ensure adherence to quality. The Rules further provide for:the role of Steering -cum-Monitoring Committee in monitoring of the MOM Scheme, food security allowance to be paid by the State Government, etc.
