Notification constituting the Apex Committee for Implementation of Paris Agreement.

This Notification is made in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 to constitute the Apex Committee for Implementation of Paris Agreement (Committee). It provides for the composition of the Committee which includes inter-ministerial representatives. The functions of the Committee are involve implementation of certain provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986; coordination, communication and reporting of NDCs to UNFCCC; developing Monitoring, Reporting and Verification protocol for National Inventory Management System; and other functions as provided in the Notification. The powers of the Committee are also laid down in the Notification.
