Notification declaring the Pench Tiger Reserve (Indira Priyadarsini Pench National Park and Mowgali Pench Sanctuary) Eco-sensitive Zone.

This Notification is made in exercise of the powers conferred by the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 read with the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986. It declares an area varying from zero to 27 kilometres around the boundary of Pench Tiger Reserve (Indira Priyadarsini Pench National Park and Mowgali Pench Sanctuary) in the state of Madhya Pradesh as the Eco-sensitive Zone (ESZ). It provides the extent and boundaries of the ESZ. It requires the state government to prepare a Zonal Master Plan for the ESZ as per the stipulations in the Notification. The notification includes measures to be undertaken in respect of land use, water resources, tourism, pollution control and waste disposal. The list of activities prohibited or to be regulated with the ESZ are also laid down. A Monitoring Committee is constituted for effective monitoring of the provisions of the notification.
