Notification declaring the Yadahalli Chinkara Wildlife Sanctuary Eco-sensitive Zone.

This Notification is made in exercise of the powers conferred by the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 read with the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986. It declares an area varying from 100 meters to one kilometre around the boundary of Yadahalli Chinkara Wildlife Sanctuary, in Bagalkot district in the state of Karnataka as the Yadahalli Chinkara Wildlife Sanctuary Eco-sensitive Zone (ESZ). The Notification provides the extent and boundaries of the ESZ. It requires the state government to prepare a Zonal Master Plan for the ESZ as per the stipulations in the Notification. The notification includes measures to be undertaken in respect of land use, water resources, tourism, pollution control and waste disposal. The list of activities prohibited or to be regulated with the ESZ are also laid down. A Monitoring Committee is constituted for effective monitoring of the provisions of the notification.
