Notification of the Ministry of Environment and Forests establishing the National Coastal Zone Management Authority.

This Order provides for the establishment of the National Coastal Zone Management Authority, for its composition and for its powers and functions.
The Authority shall protect and improve the quality of the coastal environment and prevent, abate and control environmental pollution in the coastal areas.
The Authority shall: coordinate actions of State and Union Territory Coastal Zone Management Authorities; examine their proposals for changes and modification of coastal zones areas and coastal management plans; deal with environmental issues relating to coastal regulation zone; etc.
