Notification S.O. 2194(E) of 2022 constituting the National Coastal Zone Management Authority.

This Notification is made in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 to constitute the National Coastal Zone Management Authority (Authority) for the purpose of protecting and improving the quality of the coastal environment and preventing, abating and controlling environmental pollution in the coastal areas. It provides for the composition of the Authority, its office, quorum for meetings, powers and functions. The powers and functions include examining the proposals for changes or modification in the classification of Coastal Zone Areas and in the Coastal Zone Management Plans, reviewing cases involving violations, providing technical assistance and guidance, approving the Coastal Zone Management Plans, Island Coastal Regulation Zone Plan and Integrated Island Management Plans.
