Order of the Ministry of Environment and Forests establishing the Gujarat Coastal Zone Management Authority.

This Order provides for the establishment of the Gujarat Coastal Zone Management Authority, for its composition and for its powers and functions.
The Authority shall protect and improve the quality of the coastal environment and prevent, abate and control environmental pollution in the coastal areas of the State of Gujarat. Other functions of the Authority shall include the identification of ecologically sensitive areas in the Coastal Regulation Zone and of coastal areas highly vulnerable to erosion or degradation and the formulation of area-specific management plans to be submitted to the National Coastal Zone Management Authority for examination and approval.
