Tamil Nadu Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2017.

These Rules are enacted in accordance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (Act 30 of 2013).
The State Government shall identify or establish an organization, namely, the State Social Impact Assessment Unit, which shall be responsible for ensuring that the Social Impact Assessment studies are commissioned and conducted by the SIA Agency concerned as per the provisions of the Act and these Rules. The State Social Impact Assessment Unit shall function under the overall control of the Commissioner. The Rules further make provisions for: process of conducting the Social Impact Assessment, process of conducting public hearings, process of obtaining prior consent of affected families, publication of preliminary notification, development plan for scheduled cases or scheduled tribes families, etc.
