Tamil Nadu State Water Policy, 1994.

The goals and objectives on the Tamil Nadu State Water Policy 1994 include establishment of management information system for water resources, maximising benefit from existing water resources, promotion of research and training facilities, allocation of water use priorities, preservation and stabilisation of existing water resources, preserve and enhance fisheries, water quality standards, promotion of equity and social justice, flood protection and drainage, user participation in all aspects of water planning and management. The Policy lays down a 14 point action plan to fulfil these goals and objectives.
