Telangana Food Security Rules, 2017

These Rules are issued in accordance with sub-section (1) of Section 40 of the National Food Security Act, 2013. Under these Rules, the State government shall identify eligible households in the state which are applicable to receive the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (Government of India sponsored scheme to provide highly subsidised food to poor families). Further, the Rules also provide for the appointment of District Grievance Redressal Officers to address complaints of any aggrieved person. The Rules also provide the composition and functions of the State Food Commission constituted in accordance with the provisions of section 16(1) and (2) of the National Food Security Act, 2013.
