Transport of Animals (Amendment) Rules, 2009.

These Rules amend the Transport of Animals Rules 1978 (principal Rules). Rule 50 of the principal Rules relating to space provided for each cattle in a railway wagon is substituted. A new clause (d) is inserted after clause (c) of Rule 58, relating to space requirements for horses being transported by road or rail. Rule 73 is amended which provides the space requirements for sheep and goat while being transported by rail or road. Rule 94 is amended. In Rule 95 of the principal Rules, clause (a) relating to number of pigs permitted for road vehicles is substituted.
