Uttarakhand Fruit Nurseries (Regulation) Act, 2019 (Uttarakhand Act 11 of 2020).

This Act provides for regulation of fruit nurseries in the state of Uttarakhand. Section 3 requires persons carrying on business of fruit nurseries to obtain a licence. For each fruit nursery, a separate licence must be obtained. Section 4 lays down the procedure for application of such licence. Section 5 lays down the essential conditions for obtaining a licence. The Act contains provisions in respect of duration of licence, its renewal, suspension or cancellation. The order for refusal of licence or renewal, or suspension or cancellation must be in writing and such order of licensing authority can be appealed by aggrieved person before the Appellate Authority. Section 12 lays down the duties of licence holders. The Act also provides for inspection of nursery, packaging and labelling of plants, power of government to regulate import or export, offences and penalties, and training of farmers by state department.
