Amendment to Article 23 of the Technical Regulation on Control and Reduction of Pollutants.

The amendments to Article 23 of the above Regulation provides that oil refineries must upgrade fuel oil to meet national standards by 2027. Starting in 2024, the Ministry of Energy, with other agencies, must reduce fuel oil use in power plants by 10% annually compared to 2022 by expanding renewable energy. Within two months, the Ministries of Oil and Energy must submit a timeline for these actions for approval by the Department of Environment.
