Amendment of the Law of the Sea

This Act, which consists of 46 articles, introduces some amendments to the Law of the Sea of 20 September 1964. In particular, the amendments include minor ones, such as changing the name of the Country from “Iran” to “Islamic Republic of Iran” to the upgrade in prices and costs due to inflation. Technical control of the vessel before travelling, increase in responsibilities of the Master and protection of the environment from maritime pollution are the other amendments to the Act. The situation of the vessel and the crew in the terms of Piracy also has been added to the Law.
