Decision of Special Presidential Delegate in the Market Support Committee on rice importations.

According to article 127 of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministries (July 14, 1998), as per the 250,000 Tons rice shortage of 1998, the Ministry of Commerce is authorized to provide for national rice consumption using floating exchange rate. The Ministry of Commerce is authorized to import 200,000 Tons of sugar using trade exchange rate for the distribution to industrial and trade centers. The central bank is compelled in providing the required trade exchange rate for the importation of sugar.
