Law on Comprehensive System of Animal Husbandry.

The purpose of this Law, which consists of 21 articles, is to organize issues relating to livestock, increase their productivity, provide job security, increase the use of modern technology and encourage investment in the animal husbandry. According to the Law, the official authorization and technical certificate is required for any activity in industrial or semi-industrial animal husbandry as well as any investment in this field. The Ministry of Agriculture is the responsible authority to enhance education, research and training in this sector. The Law also regulates provisions regarding technical and sanitary issues as well as the insurance of the livestock, staff and equipment of the animal husbandry units.
Slaughtering of any endangered species of livestock is only possible with specific permission and under supervision of an animal breeding expert and a veterinarian. The Ministry of Agriculture is obliged to prepare an annual migration plan for migrating bees, at least one month before beginning of the migration period. To encourage domestic animal husbandry, the government should put limitation on the quantity and price of the livestock products importation. The Act obliges the government to provide financial assistance for protection of endangered species. The government also has duty to end smuggling of the animal products as well as providing proper circumstances for their exportation.
