Law on Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on the Construction and Operation of Current Power Plants on the Aras River.

This Agreement refers to mutual interest and agreement of two countries for utilisation of hydropower energy on the boarding river of Aras, based on mutual economical and technical cooperation between two countries without interference in local and national affairs. Each country would appoint its organisation for construction and utilisation projects of power plants for production of hydropower. Each country shall finance the projects instalment in its own territory. There would be a mutual zone for conduct of research and study plans for the plant construction. The maintenance and repairing operations of the facilities shall be processed independently. The Agreement provides for incur of damages, dam construction, right to water withdrawal by taking into account the environmental standards and waste disposal. This Agreement consists of 13 Articles.
