Law establishing the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Act, which consists of 15 articles, provides for the establishment of the Ministry of Agriculture (Ministry of Jihad of Agriculture). The Ministry of Agriculture is formed by the integration of the the former Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Jihad of Construction. Sustainable development of agriculture and natural resources, increase in quality and quantity of agricultural products, providing food security, development of rural areas as well as increasing investment in the field of agriculture are the essential purpose of formation of the Ministry of Agriculture. In order to improve agriculture and industry, the Ministry shall support small farms and rural industry. Accordingly, Funds for Development of Agriculture are created within the mandate of Ministry. Also, to increase efficiency of the agricultural sector, the Ministry is required to support the production of agricultural machinery and equipment. Regarding the problem of water shortage in the country, the Ministry of Agriculture shall work in close collaboration with the Ministry of Energy.
