Law on Preventing the Fragmentation of Agricultural Land and Creating Appropriate Pieces Due to Technical and Economical Matters.

The purpose of this Law, which consists of 6 articles, is to determine a quorum of farmland for technical and economic matters in order to prevent the separation and fragmentation of farmland. To increase production efficiency and optimal allocation of resources, the quorum should be determined based on climate condition, cropping pattern as well as quality and quantity of water and soil.
Separation and partition of farmland to slots smaller than the determined quorum is prohibited. Any changes in the specified quorum should be approved by the Ministry of Agriculture. Moreover, the Law requires the government to encourage owners of farmlands, whose lands are smaller than the technical and economic quorum, to integrate their lands to reach the quorum and the government shall provide them with any necessary legal, credential and financial support.
