Abstract
The Act, which consists of 11 articles, aims to regulate provisions on promotion of breastfeeding and protection of mothers in breastfeeding time. In particular, the maternity leave of employed mothers in the governmental sectors is 4 months for the first three children and their job security after maternity leave must be guaranteed. The allowed amount of importation as well as distribution of powdered infant formula and infant complementary foods should be determined by the Ministry of Health.
In order to guarantee and monitor the implementation of this Legislation, “The Breastfeeding Promotion Committee” is established under supervision of the Ministry of Health.

The Act contains an Amendment changing the maternity leave from 4 month to 6 month. (The Amendment refers to Article 3 of the Law on Promoting Breastfeeding and Supporting Nursing Mother, August 6, 2007).This Act invalidates any provisions which are inconsistent with regulation of this Act.
