Abstract
The National Program for the Promotion of Food Culture and Nutrition Literacy in Iran aims to improve public health by promoting healthy eating patterns. Rooted in Iranian-Islamic culture, the program emphasizes principles such as respect for human dignity, health equity, food security, evidence-based decision-making, capacity building in nutrition, creating supportive environments for healthy food choices, promoting social responsibility in the food supply chain, supporting farmers and producers in sustainable food production, and encouraging the consumption of local and traditional foods.
The program's key objectives include raising public awareness, attitudes, and behaviors regarding healthy nutrition, engaging policymakers, increasing sustainable production and diversity of healthy food products, and enhancing media programs related to nutrition. Implementation strategies focus on effective public education, targeted training for influential groups, and fostering intersectoral collaboration to achieve these goals. The plan is designed in 7 Parts.
