Regulation on Conduct of Research and Scientific Studies in the Maritime Areas of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

This Regulation provides for conduct of research and scientific study in the marine areas of Oman Sea and Persian Gulf for the peaceful purposes. Any research activity should not interfere with the shipping operations, fishing, installation of oil cables and pipes and should not cease preservation of animate and inanimate resources. The text requires for identification sign of the research utensil and compensation in case of damages resulting from the research operation. Research conduct shall not result in any rights over the marine ecosystem and its resources. Conduct of the research is subject to issuance of permit and the research should be publishable for public. The text consists of 14 Articles.
