Abstract
This Regulation, which consists of 9 articles, establishes the National Working Group on Adaptation to Water Scarcity. The Water Scarcity National Working Group is mainly responsible to enforce laws and regulations concerning water consumption control and adaption to water shortage in different parts of the country. The Working Group also should make the critical decisions on issues concerning water shortage and coordinate the activities of all relevant authorities. The Regulation obliges the Working Group to determine the proper quote of water consumption in different sectors, such as drinking, agriculture, industry or green spaces, to make priorities in water consumption for different provinces, and to observe the activities of the working groups in each province. The Regulation prohibits cultivation of rice in provinces facing water shortage.
The Regulation also requires the National Television and Radio to facilitate the publicization of the strategies and programmes of the Working Group. The Minister of Energy is the head of the Working Group and members include, Ministry of Domestic Affairs, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Industry and Mining, Minister of Trade, Head of the Department of Environment and Head of the Budget and Planning Organization.
