Abstract
The purpose of this Regulation, which consists of 7 articles, is to designate guidelines for rehabilitation and development of medicinal plants and traditional medicine as well as sustainable use of these natural resources. According to the Regulation, use of traditional medicine and medical plants should be growing as safer methods of treatments. Accordingly, knowledge management, increasing specialization and employment in this area as well as functionalism of traditional methods of treatment are encouraged by this Regulation. In the field of medical plants, increase of exportation, protection of endangered pieces, organizing production and distribution and increase of international cooperation in relevant science and technology are considered as main priorities. In the field of traditional medicine and pharmacy, promoting public health, nationwide insurance coverage, facilitation of the traditional medical services as well as supporting pharmaceutical research centres are main objectives. The Regulation also establishes the Institute for Development of Science and Technology related to traditional medicine and medical plants.
