Abstract
This Act lays down rules on the characterisation of fishing vessels. All vessels, Icelandic and foreign, intended for fishing, shall bear their clear name and address when they enter Icelandic waters or operate there. It is prohibited to eradicate such marks, or distort them, make them unrecognisable, cover them or hide them, while a ship is in Icelandic territorial waters. Penalties for offences are also covered by the Act.
