Abstract
This regulation implements the Iceland–Faroe Islands agreement on Faroese vessels’ demersal fishing in Icelandic fisheries waters. It requires Faroese vessels to obtain permits from the Directorate of Fisheries, limits fishing to authorised annual quotas and specific gear such as longlines and handlines, prohibits direct fishing for Greenland halibut and halibut, sets area restrictions, reporting, monitoring, catch-conversion and onboard-processing rules, and provides for inspection, licence withdrawal and penalties for violations.
