Regulation No. 50/2026 on incentive and support projects in land restoration and forestry.

This Regulation establishes a framework for incentive and support programs in land restoration and forestry, aimed at encouraging individuals, organizations, municipalities, and companies to undertake projects that promote ecosystem restoration, sustainable land use, afforestation, biodiversity protection, wetland restoration, erosion control, and climate-related environmental goals. It sets out eligibility criteria, application procedures, funding priorities, evaluation standards, contractual requirements, monitoring obligations, and repayment rules for grants administered by the agency Land and Forest (“Land og skógur”). The regulation also provides for long-term agreements for wetland restoration and forestry projects, establishes oversight and performance assessment mechanisms, and links financial support to compliance with national land restoration and forestry policies and environmental objectives.
