Regulation No. 659/2014 on the weighing and recording of bycatch in pelagic fishing.

This Regulation sets rules for weighing, sampling and recording bycatch in pelagic fisheries, covering Icelandic and certain foreign vessels landing pelagic catch in Iceland. It requires sampling of landings, species classification and registration of quota-bound bycatch in Fiskistofa’s catch recording system, with special rules for herring catches, processing vessels, record-keeping, penalties, and possible sanctions against weighing licence holders.
