Abstract
This regulation governs fishing for pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha), allowing fishing associations, or holders of fishing rights where no fishing association operates, to fish for pink salmon using seine nets during the years 2023, 2024 and 2025. Applications for permits are announced by the Directorate of Fisheries and must specify the rivers, lakes and land areas where fishing is planned. The Directorate issues the permits, which are granted for each calendar year and may include conditions on reporting, fishing gear, fishing periods, registration of all catch, and annual submission of reports on fishing effort and catch. Permits are non-transferable and may be revoked if the permit holder fails to comply with their conditions; renewal depends on submission of the previous year’s catch and effort report. The Directorate of Fisheries is responsible for monitoring compliance and may take action in case of breaches or if permit conditions are no longer met.
