Abstract
This regulation governs fishing for ocean quahog within Iceland’s fisheries jurisdiction. It requires a special permit from the Directorate of Fisheries for any ocean quahog fishing intended for human consumption, allows certain quota vessels to harvest with dredges, requires proof of approved processing facilities, limits fishing to areas that have passed food-safety inspection by MAST, and bans all ocean quahog fishing within one nautical mile of a specified point. It also sets rules on weighing, registration, licence suspension, penalties for violations.
