Abstract
This regulation governs fishing for sea cucumbers within Iceland’s fisheries jurisdiction. It generally prohibits sea cucumber fishing unless vessels have the required catch quota or permit, and limits fishing to specified geographic areas, including areas in the Westfjords, Breiðafjörður, Faxaflói, and eastern Iceland. It also provides for experimental fishing permits, seasonal closures during spawning periods, gear restrictions such as dredge size and mesh size, rules on weighing and registration, administrative sanctions and penalties for violations.
