Abstract
This regulation governs the special allocation of catch entitlements to recreational fishing vessels under Icelandic fisheries law. It allows a specified annual quantity of ungutted demersal fish to be allocated, for payment, to vessels licensed for recreational fishing, with a maximum of 10 tonnes per vessel per fishing year. The Directorate of Fisheries handles applications and allocation, unused entitlements expire at the end of the fishing year, the price is based on 80% of the average market price for quota, and the allocated catch entitlements may only be used for recreational fishing, with limited transfer allowed between recreational fishing vessels.
