Abstract
This regulation implements EEA/EU rules allowing the marketing in Iceland of infant formula made from hydrolysed cow’s-milk whey proteins, provided it complies with the specifications in EU Regulation No. 1609/2006. It permits such formula to be marketed under defined conditions concerning protein content, protein source, processing method, and protein quality, and places enforcement responsibility on the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority and local health committees; breaches are handled under Icelandic food law.
