Abstract
This regulation sets restrictions on longline fishing in deep-water areas within Iceland’s fisheries jurisdiction. It establishes several closed areas, defined by coordinates, where longline fishing is prohibited either year-round or during specific periods, especially around northern, eastern, southern, and south-eastern Iceland. It also provides penalties for violations and repeals earlier regulations concerning bans on longline fishing and some combined longline/bottom-trawl restrictions in those areas.
