Act No. 610 concerning the reorganization of the State Agency for Interventions in the Agricultural Market (AIMA).

The State Agency for Interventions in the Agricultural Market (AIMA) is responsible for the implementation of the policy and objectives established by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Agriculture and Food Policy (CIPAA). To this end the CIPAA shall approve within September 15th of every year the programme of interventions drawn up by the AIMA. The duties of the latter cover, inter alia, the supply and purchase of agricultural and food products at the national and international level, the allocation of funds available to less favoured areas, the granting of subsidies and contributions relevant to the common organization of the agricultural market and in general any other intervention required by the law to assure the market equilibrium. Article 4 establishes the organs of the AIMA and their respective duties. Article 5 establishes the National Advisory Committee, consisting of the representatives of the farmers, the trade unions, the fishing enterprises, the farmers' associations, etc. with a view to ensuring the participation of the categories concerned in the activity of the AIMA.
