Decision by the Committee on protected nature areas, approving the first three-year programme for protected nature areas, 1993.

This Decision adopts the first three-year Programme for the Protected Nature Areas, as implementation of certain provisions of Act No. 394/1991 of 6 December laying down the legal framework for protected areas, taking account of the most recent international initiatives in this area. The priority purposes of the Programme are to define the national system of protected nature areas, the implementation of a more effective nature conservation policy and to allocate the funds available, defining the criteria for their use. The Decision also contains tables allocating the resources by region and specific protected area.
