Decree-Law No. 552, concerning urgent interventions in the agricultural sector and enforcing the fisheries closed season for 1996.

This Ministerial Decree covers financial aspects relevant to agricultural and fisheries sectors. It applies for the development of the agricultural and the farming sectors. It concerns mainly the community regime of milk production, and the amendments to Act of 26 November 1992, No. 468 in matter of compensation and to Act of 22 February 1994, No. 146. It makes provisions for the enforcement of the closed season for fishing vessels engaged in the coastal and offshore fishing and using bottom trawls or midwater trawls. Fishing is forbidden for 45 consecutive days in the maritime district of the Adriatic Sea effective from 31 July 1996 and in the maritime district of the Tyrrhenian and Ionic Sea starting from 31 August 1996. The Decree establishes also an allowance of It. Liras 30.000 to be paid daily in favour of each member of the crew. Article 9-bis makes provisions for the disposal of fish processing residues.
