Abstract
The present Decree provides for the setting up of the State nature reserve of the Vivara Island, the boundaries of which are defined in the cartography attached. The nature reserve has been established to pursue the following aims: (a) conservation of the ecological characteristics of the area and of related fauna, flora and environmental features; (b) environmental restoration of deteriorated environments; (c) promotion of activities compatible with the conservation of natural resources; (d) performance of environmental education programmes as well as scientific studies and research. Article 3 establishes the Commission of the Reserve, which shall formulate advices and proposals. Article 4, on the other hand, refers to the Managing Organism, which shall draft the Management Plan and the related Regulation.
