Legge Regionale 23 luglio 2014, n. 19. Norme per la promozione e il sostegno dell’economia solidale.

With this Law, which is composed by 3 Headings, the Emilia Romagna Region recognizes and supports the solidarity economy as a socio-economic and cultural model marked by principles of ethics and justice, equity and social cohesion, solidarity and centrality of the person, protection of natural heritage and connection with the territory and as a fundamental tool for dealing with situations of economic crisis, employment and environmental crisis.
In order to implement what described above, the Region recognizes a model that: (a) promotes the common goods, ensuring their collective and sustainable use for the benefit of communities and future generations; (b) defends the fundamental rights of every human being; (c) is based on the respect, protection and valorization of the planet's resources; (d) pursue everyone's "well-being", based on justice and respect for people; (e) is based on relationships and collaborative models; (f) promotes a social transformation finalized to a democratization of the economy; (g) regulates the marketing mechanisms undermining or jeopardizing the social and ecological sustainability of the economic system; (h) promotes and protects the work, knowledge, skills and abilities derived from it. The solidarity economy model is informed by a series of criteria among which are the support for the local economy, the innovation, the transparency, the equity and reciprocity, the democratic participation, the eco-compatibility etc.
Among the sectors covered by the solidarity economy are the proximity peasant agriculture; organic and bio-dynamic agricultural production; food quality assurance; protection of landscape, natural heritage and bio-diversity; fair trade etc.
Heading 2 describes the supporting measures to the solidarity economy and Heading 3 describes the tools, procedures and evaluations for the implementation of the present Law.
