Abstract
This Decree officially adopts (as regards the Republic of Italy and its legal system) the rules and contents of the Regulation (EU) No. 1143/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species.
The provisions provided by the above mentioned European Regulation are aimed principally at setting out rules to prevent, minimize and mitigate the adverse impact on biodiversity of the introduction and spread (both intentional and unintentional) of invasive alien species (such as animals, plants, fungi or microorganisms introduced outside their natural range).
