Abstract
This text provides for as unified and consolidate single text of all laws on local authorities, consisting of 275 articles. This Law contains the overall principles and provisions regarding the organization of local authorities (here classified as municipalities, provinces, metropolitan cities, mountain communities, island communities and unions of municipalities) on the territory of the Republic of Italy.
The provisions of this publication shall not apply to regions with special statutes and to the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano if incompatible with the attributions provided for by the statutes and relative implementation rules. Article 3 states that all local communities, ordered in municipalities and provinces, are autonomous.
Article 274 provides for the list of repealed legislation.
