Legislative Decree 8 November 2021, n. 198.

This decree, which applies to the sale of agricultural and food products carried out by suppliers established in the national territory, contains provisions concerning the commercial relations between buyers and suppliers of agricultural and food products in order to contrast unfair commercial practices in such relations.
To this aim it defines the commercial practices that are prohibited as contrary to the principles of good faith and fairness and those unilaterally imposed by a contractor to its counterpart. It rationalizes and strengthens the legal framework in force in the direction of the greater protection of suppliers and operators of the agricultural and food supply chain with respect to the aforementioned practices. The provisions of this decree apply to the sale of agricultural and food products, carried out by suppliers who are established in the national territory.
The Decree identifies the Department of the Central Inspectorate of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies as the authority in charge for the protection of quality and fraud prevention of agri-food products and for the ascertainment of violations in respect of the provisions of the Decree. It sets its powers in relation thereof and establishes the procedures for lodging complaints.
