Legislative Decree February 2, 2021, n. 24. Adaptation of national legislation to the provisions of Regulation (EU) no. 2017/625 on official health checks on animals and goods entering in the Union and establishment of border control posts of Ministry of Health, in implementation of the delegation contained in article 12, paragraph 3, letters h) and i) of the law of 4 October 2019, n. 117.

This Decree sets up the border control posts of the Ministry of Health responsible for carrying out official controls on consignments destined for import into the European Union in the sectors of referred to in Article 1, paragraph 2, letters a), c), d), e) and f), of Regulation (EU) no. 2017/625 (food and feed safety, animal health and welfare) to verify compliance with European Union legislation.
The Decree provides about the organization of controls and identifies the animals and goods exempt from official controls at border control posts.
The Decree further designates the border control posts, adaptation and maintenance of structures and establishes sanctions for those introducing the identified animals and goods into the national territory without submitting them to the prescribed veterinary checks, those violating requirements regarding the transit abd the conditions of control of the transport as well as those violating the prescriptions given by the post of border control.
