Abstract
With a view to protecting the environment as well as human health and well-being, this Legislative Decree regulates noise emission standards, conformity assessment procedures, marking, technical documentation and collection of data relative to noise emission of equipment for use outdoors. The latter is described with detail by article 2 and Annex I. Paragraph 3 of article 1 indicates the equipments which shall not fall within the application scope. Article 3 defines the conditions under which the equipment may be placed on the market. In particular, it shall: (1) meet the environmental noise emission requirements hereby laid down; (2) be subject to the conformity assessment procedure regulated under article 11; (3) bear CE marking. The Ministry of the Environment and the National Agency for Environmental Protection (ANPA) shall carry out checks to ensure compliance with these provisions (art. 4). Article 15 lays down penalties.
